Let’s take a closer look

Make digital materials more accessible for people with disabilities by equiping educators with the knowledge of the basic principles. The goal is to include a wider audience by increasing accessibility.

Before we set out on this journey, it’s only right to wonder who are the people we’re going to help.  Let’s map it out:

  • We’re going to be using the term accessibility in relation to digital materials.
  • Creating something that is digitally accessible allows for a more effective way of communicating with your audience. Disabilities that your students might experience:
  • Cognitive impairments
  • Motor impairments
  • Physical impairments
  • Sensory impairments

Putting basic principles into your workflow allows your students to interact with the materials in a way that is most effective for them. This includes the use of assistive technology. The goal is to weave in more accessibility principles to include a wider audience.
